Foot Care
Foot care is a daily practice of washing, moisturizing, filing and clipping nails. Most of us are fully capable of reaching our feet to perform independent foot care, but a lot of Americans cannot reach their feet for a variety of reasons. Some of those reasons might be obesity, joint stiffness, altered mental status, visual impairment, serious medical condition or possibly joint injury. I have seen many extensive foot infection in my practice that started from toe nail clipping, nail and dry skin picking and filing. Regular foot care prevents foot infections that can lead to amputation. We do not recommend diabetics go to salon for foot care due to infection risks.
Our foot care program was started to provide Oklahomans an opportunity to low cost professional foot care. Patients that need professional foot care are patients at risk of infection, neuropathy, poor circulation, chronic swelling, chronic pain, obesity and poor mobility. Professional foot care includes: assessment of tissue and nail color, circulation, edema, pain and odor that can prevent serious complications. Our team will trim and files nails and calluses, make shoe recommendations and / or modifications and provide a full thorough inspection. Treatment is typically gentle and pain free and completed in one visit.
The cost is $40.00 per treatment. In some situations insurance may cover this expense, but our office manager is experienced and will call for eligibility.

Pilonidal Cyst
Pilonidal cyst is a fluid filled pus pocket formed around hair follicles between the butt cheeks. Pilonidal cyst usually become infected requiring surgery to drain and debride the abscess. Antibiotics and outpatient wound care may be needed to heal the wound if delayed healing occurs.
Risks involved in pilonidal cystectomies include bleeding, delayed healing, infection and reoccurrence. Pilonidal cysts are extremely difficult to heal because of many factors. Factors include: wet moist environment, hair, heat, friction and stool. Our clinic has exceptional healing success rate with pilonidal cyst and we work closely with physicians and the patient to ensure the best care.

Women’s Health
Most people confuse women’s health with just pelvic floor dysfunction, but there are many other reasons women seek help from physical therapist. Other reasons include: incontinence, pelvic pain, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, breast cancer, lymphedema, osteoporosis, fibromyalgia and other diagnoses that are more prominent in women than men. Treating women for women’s health issues is really just about treating women throughout their span.
Our team understands women’s health needs are different than men’s Health needs, such as women have different cardiac symptoms like jaw and neck pain. Whereas men will complain of chest pain, shortness of breath and upper body pain.
The pelvic floor is a large part of women’s health and our clinic has over 24 years of pelvic floor experience. Pelvic floor conditions include post-surgical complications, post C-section, episiotomy and hysterectomy.
Our clinic is an evident based practice using research to provide successful treatment to meet our patient’s goals. There’s adequate research out there supporting pelvic floor dysfunction and physical therapy intervention.

Pre-habilitation
Pre-habilitation is a program specifically designed by therapists to meet the individual needs of a patient prior to a surgery or a medical procedure .This practice is often used for orthopedic surgeries for both acute and chronic injuries and helps to promote optimal outcomes and success.
These can range from an ACL rupture to an osteoarthritic knee waiting for replacement. “Pre-hab” provides patients with pain relieving techniques, stretches, and strengthening exercises needed in order to obtain a smooth and speedy recovery.
The goals of a pre-operative rehabilitation program include mentally preparing for surgery, reducing pain and inflammation, maximizing range of motion and muscular control, education of expectations post-surgery, and improving overall wellbeing and fitness.
The surgeon is only responsible for 50% of outcome success after a surgery or procedure. The other 50% is due to a patient’s commitment to recovery. Patients will feel better about their recovery process if they are able to get out of bed, go to the restroom, and walk around the house independently.
Outpatient therapy provides their patients with exercise programs to perform at home, making patients more comfortable and familiar with the types of intervention they will encounter post-surgery. Our clinic provides a wide range of knowledge and we would love to help you decide what type of care is best for you or your family members.
