Laser Light Therapy

Laser Light Therapy delivers deep heat through light into soft tissue. This promotes increased circulation, relaxation to the muscle fibers, and a cellular tissue response. These changes in the tissue reduce inflammation and promote healing. Utilizing deep heat laser prior to soft tissue mobilization and/or stretching helps relax the tissue to make it more pliable and easier to stretch. Laser is beneficial for a wide variety of diagnoses and for all age ranges.

Benign Proximal Positional Vertigo

Benign proximal positional vertigo (BPPV) is the most common cause of vertigo. Patients complain of their head spinning or feeling like they are on merry-go-round. BPPV is more common in women than men and is prevalent in all ages, but rare in children.

Signs and symptoms can be very disabling for both young and older individuals. BPPV is usually triggered by activities like: lying down, rolling over in bed and / or looking up. For older patients these BPPV intervals can lead to falls requiring hospitalization and even fractured hip.

Diagnosis and treatment are usually easy and fast consisting of 1 to 3 visits including the evaluation. On evaluation day we determine which ear is affected and then position the patient specifically to correct the crystals within the inner ear.

Recurrence of BPPV is common as well, but again quick and easy to treat. Patients can be seen in Oklahoma without a physician referral and can call our clinic at 405 265-2255 for appointments.
